Ready. Get set. Meal prep. 🌢πŸ₯’πŸ₯¦

Packed lunches can be cool okay!?

It can be difficult to keep track of your food, understand calories and get your head around macros, plus getting into a routine can feel stressful at first – so here are a few tips to ease you into meal prep:

πŸ₯•Make a meal plan for the week: this will save you time and money so that you know what ingredients will be needed across the week.

πŸ₯•Stock up on containers:
Invest in some great leak proof containers to portion your creations.

πŸ₯•Meal prep is not just about lunch: Your day might call for prepped egg muffin breakfast cups and over night oats or you might need pre-prepped dinners to fit your shifts/schedule!

πŸ₯•Think about your food groups: You can focus on upping your fruit, veg, legumes, high protein and healthy fats to keep you fuller for longer rather than too many processed elements.

πŸ₯•Buy staple foods in bulk: Rice, cereal, nuts, beans and dried fruit etc.

πŸ₯•Keep your pantry organised & utilise your spices: It just gets easier if you know exactly what you have in the kitchen to whip up your meals with tasty flavours. Use your fridges/freezers and cupboards to their great potential by knowing what you already have in the house before buying more ingredients.

πŸ₯•Batch cook + use leftovers: Don’t make meal prep a mission. Cook extra ingredients to store/reuse/include in your meal prep e.g bigger batch of roasted veggies or mince can be used through out the week for different meals.

πŸ₯•Stretch your food + your budget by freezing either individual elements such as veg, bread, sauces or entire meals like lasagna, soups, or stews.

Don’t forget to vary your menus across the month and get creative! πŸ’œ
